Retired Air Force Colonel John Devillier will take the helm at Clark State Community College as the new vice president for business affairs. Devillier replaces Joe Jackson who retired at the end of last year.
“Col. John Devillier is certainly a familiar face in our region as the commander of the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” said Dr. Jo Alice Blondin, president of Clark State. “Clark State worked closely with him during his tenure at WPAFB, and now we are extremely fortunate to welcome him to Clark State Community College as our vice president for business affairs.”
Blondin said Col. Devillier’s vision, energy, financial acumen, leadership, preparation and communication skills will provide Clark State with the necessary skill set to serve students in business operations across the Springfield, Beavercreek and Bellefontaine campuses: strategic and financial planning, human resources and training, facilities and grounds, bookstore, food services and public safety.
“He is an outstanding addition to our Executive Council, and we look forward to welcoming him to campus,” she said.
In his new role as chief financial officer of the College, Devillier will provide financial and business advice and recommendations to the president, the Board Finance/Facilities Committee and the Finance/Audit/Investment Committee of the Foundation. The position serves as institutional liaison with legal counsel and the State Attorney General's Office and is responsible for supervising and determining the broad policies of all institutional functions under its supervision including facilities, operations and maintenance, grounds and fleet, human resources, risk management, bookstore, dining and office services.

Devillier brings more than twenty years of human resource experience to Clark State including most recently serving as special assistant for general flag officer matters for the United States Air Force at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. Devillier was hand-selected by the four-star Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to plan and coordinate the assignment, development process and promotion of over 300 personnel within the DOD’s most senior level executive corps.
Prior to that, Devillier served as commander for the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he led the second largest Air Base Wing with 5,500 personnel; an annual budget of $300 million; and operational oversight of logistics, engineering, medical, communication, security, HR management and employee relations.
Devillier will begin his tenure with Clark State on June 1.
