Clark State Community College President Dr. Jo Alice Blondin will take to social media for a Facebook Live session at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6.

Clark State students will be the target audience for the Live session which will cover the new accreditation process from the Higher Learning Commission.

“Without regional accreditation, students are unable to transfer or receive Title IV funds—financial aid, so their interest in the process should be keen,” said Blondin.

Blondin said the goal of the Facebook Live session is to communicate in an accessible way to Clark State students. This is her first time using Facebook Live to reach students.

Students will also be able to ask questions following the Facebook Live, which is expected to last no more than 15 minutes.

The Higher Learning Commission is a regional accreditation agency that accredits degree-granting institutions of higher education that are based in the 19-state North Central region of the United States. Institutions that HLC accredits are evaluated against HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation, a set of standards that institutions must meet to receive and/or maintain accredited status.
