Clark State’s Upcoming Workshop Will Help Students Apply for Foundation Scholarships

October 22, 2019

Clark State Community College will hold a workshop to assist students in completing applications for available Clark State Foundation scholarships.

“We’re excited to offer these workshops to assist with our scholarship applications,” said Toni Overholser, director of the Clark State Foundation. “We understand that the process of applying for financial aid and submitting scholarship applications can seem daunting.”

Overholser said Clark State’s streamlined scholarship application simplifies the process. “Students need only submit one general application, and they will be matched automatically with scholarships for which they are eligible,” she said. “Many of our scholarships are awarded based on financial need, not strictly academic achievement. We’re here to support students through the entire enrollment process.”

The Clark State Foundation scholarships are awarded for financial need, academic performance or a specific program of study to both full-time and part-time students. Scholarships generally open each January for the upcoming year. There are currently more than 50 different scholarships offered through the Clark State Foundation. Scholarships may be awarded for fall and/or spring semesters.

The workshop will be held 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 in the Sara T. Landess Technology and Learning Center, Room 103 on Clark State’s campus on Leffel Lane in Springfield. This workshop is open to current and future Clark State students.
