Clark State to Celebrate Grand Opening of New Xenia Location

February 6, 2019

Clark State Community College will celebrate the REACH Center Grand Opening on Sunday, February 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Xenia YMCA, 336 Progress Drive in Xenia.

Clark State, in collaboration with the City of Xenia, Kettering Health Network, the YMCA of Greater Dayton, the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center and Central State University broke ground on the new facility in the spring of 2018. The partnership addresses educational, health and workforce needs in Greene County.

“Clark State is excited to be located in Xenia at the YMCA to provide higher education options closer to home for residents of Xenia and Jamestown, as well as for all residents of Greene County,” said Natalie Johnson, associate dean of the Greene County locations for Clark State.

Clark State Xenia utilizes 4,950 square feet of the new facility for classrooms, laboratories and offices. At full capacity, the classrooms will allow Clark State to serve approximately 300-400 students. In partnership with Kettering Health Network, Clark State will strive to educate workers for the growing healthcare industry in Greene County.

Sharon Evans, past chairperson of the Clark State Board of Trustees will speak at the event. “The Board of Trustees is thrilled about the opportunity to serve those in the Greene County area and provide educational opportunities for those who are looking to obtain their goals and achieve more prosperity,” she said.

Clark State offers degree and certificate programs, workforce training, non-credit courses and workshops and soft-skills training at the Clark State Xenia location. College Credit Plus courses are also available for high school students. Registration is now open. Day and evening classes are available along with child care for those who need it.
