Clark State to Host Military, Veterans Appreciation Day at Beavercreek Location

Clark State College will host a Military and Veterans Appreciation Day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., June 22 at the Beavercreek campus location, 3775 Pentagon Boulevard.

“Clark State is excited to host a wonderful evening to celebrate our military members and their families,” said Cami Akey, director of student services at Clark State-Beavercreek. “This festival-style event will have fun, games, door prizes and food. We are proud to honor those who have served and the families that support them.”

Military families are invited to join the college for a day of fun and appreciation. The event will include a variety of activities and outdoor games including kid crafts, giant connect 4, putting green, inflatable football toss/kick, and more.

Clark State currently serves United States military veteran students, active military students, National Guard and Reserve students, dependents and military spouses.

Clark State offers a 50% discount for active duty, reservists, national guard and their spouses. In order to be eligible for the discounted tuition, you must present active orders or your military ID (for Ohio National Guard and Reserves only) to the Cashier’s Office.

Clark State was awarded a Collegiate Purple Star designation in 2022. Ohio is the first state in the nation to adopt a Collegiate Purple Star designation. Clark State was one of 33 public and independent colleges and universities in Ohio to receive this honor.

Clark State received the designation of Top School in the 2018 Military Advanced Education & Transition (MAE&T) Guide to Colleges & Universities. This honor is awarded to institutions with the very best practices in military- and veteran-supportive education.

In 2015, Clark State was designated as a Purple Heart Campus and was approved by the Community College of the Air Force as a General Education Mobile (GEM) partner. Clark State was the first community college in Ohio to receive this approval. The College also features a Veterans Lounge that provides student veterans with a place to unwind, study, hold meetings or network.

Clark State students have also been inducted into the SALUTE National Honor Society. SALUTE – Service, Academics, Leadership, Unity, Tribute, Excellence - is the only national honor society recognizing and honoring the service and scholastic achievements of student veterans.
