Clark State Welcomes New Workforce Development Program Manager

November 23, 2015

Clark State Community College welcomes Lesli Beavers as the new program manager for Workforce Development. Beavers, from Charleston, West Virginia, previously served as operations manager/marketing director and interim president/CEO, Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce.

“This position with Clark State gives me the chance to utilize my previous experiences to continue to grow communities through workforce development while allowing me to expand that reach throughout Greene and Clark counties,” said Beavers.

Beavers said by focusing on workforce development, she hopes to further link Clark State with the needs of Greene and Clark county businesses to further Clark State’s mission of fostering individual and community success. She will have an office location at the Clark State Greene Center campus in Beavercreek and also the main campus in Springfield to better serve both counties.

She said she is looking forward to the task of bridging the gap between workforce development and academia and has wanted to return to a career in higher education since her time serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer from 2007-2009.

Beavers said she is looking forward to learning the different functions of Clark State Community College and being a good steward for the College’s mission. “I am excited to learn more about and become more active in the service areas outside of Beavercreek and expand my current knowledge of the economic needs and growth in those areas and the State of Ohio.”
