Clark State Will Hold Annual Health Fair

March 29, 2016

The Clark State Community College Health Fair will be  held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 6 in the LRC, Room 207/209 on the Leffel Lane Campus in Springfield.

“The Health Fair has been an annual event sponsored by the Health Clinic for more than 25 years,” said Roberta Richards, Health Clinic nurse at Clark State.

“This is an annual event that we open to the general public,” said Richards. “This opportunity would especially benefit the elderly, persons with little or no medical insurance, those with high co-pays or deductibles, individuals without a regular family physician or those who are financially challenged.”

Richards said patrons can also take advantage of the Health Fair opportunity to see the Clark State campus, learn more about area resources and participate in numerous health screenings at little or no cost.

More than 45 agencies from Springfield, Dayton and Columbus will be on-site to provide various health screenings, services and tests, including:

  • Vision screening
  • Diabetes screening
  • Neck and upper body massages
  • Hearing tests (appointments preferred—call 937-323-6129 to schedule)
  • Complete lipid profiles ($20, four-hour fast required)
  • Bone density screening

The Health Fair presents the opportunity to learn about health and social service resources available in the community and offers educational information on specific health topics.

The Health Fair is free and open to Clark State students, faculty, staff and the general public. There will be door prizes, popcorn, a clown and balloons.
