Clark State Community College will host a reception for the 2014 Fall Semester graduates and their guests. The event will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Clark State Hollenbeck Bayley Conference Center, 275 South Limestone Street in downtown Springfield.
Clark State President Dr. Jo Alice Blondin and members of the Executive Council will be in attendance to recognize the soon-to-be graduates.
“Any students that completed their degree requirements and petitioned to graduate were invited to participate in this event,” said Theresa Felder, vice president of student affairs and Greene Center operations. “It’s an opportunity for the students to be recognized.”
Felder said the reception is a social event and was held for the first time last year. “It’s our president’s signature event,” said Felder. Dr. Blondin was appointed president of Clark State in July 2013 and is known for her student-centered approach.
Felder said 198 students petitioned to graduate at the conclusion of Fall Semester 2014 and will participate in the graduation ceremony to be held in May of this year.
