New Clark State Event Highlights Year-Round Scheduling for Students

March 10, 2017

Clark State Community College will hold a first-of-its-kind registration event for current students on selected dates in March and April. RegFest will showcase how students can register for summer 2017, fall 2017 and spring 2018 classes all at one time.

“We are providing a comprehensive registration experience for our current students,” said Nina Wiley, dean of enrollment for Clark State. “This is the first time they can do year-round scheduling.”

Wiley said RegFest aims to get Clark State students engaged with academic advisors, faculty advisors, fellow students and student affairs staff. Students will learn how to utilize tools for course planning and financial aid.

While at RegFest, students are able to learn to navigate Financial Aid Self-Service (FASS), an online interactive resource for students. FASS gives students a dashboard view of their financial aid status and provides a check list and information about satisfactory academic progress. FASS is accessed through the Clark State student portal and was rolled out earlier this month.

“RegFest includes everything – mapping courses through graduation, connecting with faculty, learning about co-ops and internships, mingling with fellow students and seeing about student life,” said Wiley. “Our vision is to bring everything together and have an experience for the students.”

RegFest will be held at all three Clark State campus locations and include refreshments and prizes.

“We’re hoping these events will be very successful and will continue to engage our students,” said Wiley. “It’s a great opportunity.”

RegFest will be held on the following dates:
March 15, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Beavercreek Campus, Greene Center, second floor, Student Services
March 22, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Springfield Campus, Rhodes Hall, Student Academic Support Center
April 18, 12-4 p.m., Beavercreek Campus, Greene Center, second floor, Student Services
April 19, 1-4 p.m., Bellefontaine Campus at Ohio Hi-Point, Adult Education building
April 20, 2-6 p.m., Springfield Campus, Rhodes Hall, Student Academic Support Center
