Clark State Welcomes Gaines As New Women’s Basketball Coach

Clark State Community College welcomes Springfield South High School graduate KaWambee Gaines as the new women’s head basketball coach. Karlton Clayborne, interim athletic director at Clark State, said Gaines will bring enthusiasm and motivation to the Clark State Eagles. “He wants the student athletes to develop and be strong women and role models, and be the best person they can be.”

Clark State Announces Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2016

Clark State Community College has announced the names of students for the 2016 Spring Semester Dean's List. Two hundred thirty-one (231) full-time students and five hundred seventy-nine (579) part-time students earned a 3.5 grade point average or better to receive dean's list honors.

Project Jericho REWIND & FAST FORWARD Live Concert!

Project Jericho, a nationally acclaimed outreach program based at Clark State Community College in Springfield, will host a free concert event called Project Jericho REWIND & FAST FORWARD at 5 p.m. on June 2 at the Clark State Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature local youth participating in Project Jericho’s My SONG program.

Clark State Professor Named STEM Exemplar by Ohio Academy of Science

Dr. David W. Miller, Ph.D., professor of biology and geology at Clark State Community College, has been recognized as a 2016 Believe in Ohio STEM Exemplar by the Ohio Academy of Science; an honor bestowed on just 81 people in the state. Miller began teaching General Biology and Geology, Meteorology and Astronomy and Ohio Field Geology courses at Clark State in 1995.

Clark State Community College will host an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, in the Sara T. Landess Technology and Learning Center on the Springfield campus on Leffel Lane. Prospective students who are considering college will have the opportunity to learn more about Clark State and the degree and certificate programs that are available.

Clark State Will Graduate More Than 500

Clark State Community College will celebrate Commencement at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7 at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 South Fountain Avenue in downtown Springfield. More than 500 candidates for graduation will receive their degree or certificate of completion. Rebecca Ryan will be the student speaker at the Commencement ceremony.

Registration for College for Kids is now open. Students entering kindergarten through eighth grade can select from a variety of summer classes beginning the week of June 13. College for Kids offers more than 25 class opportunities, each developed for student enrichment. The five-week schedule consists of different programs each week.

Clark State Community College will hold Student Recognition Night at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center in downtown Springfield. Student Recognition Night is an annual event recognizing and celebrating outstanding students. This year more than 50 students will be honored in various areas.

Clark State Performing Arts Center Welcomes Country Music Star Josh Turner

County music star Josh Turner will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 South Limestone Street, in downtown Springfield. Turner’s performance is part of this year’s Circle of Friends Celebration. The Circle of Friends Celebration will include an invitation-only dinner, but tickets for Josh Turner will be available to the public.
