Student Accepts Clark State’s Tuition Challenge and Saves

Second-year Clark State Community College student Nick Costides is the first student to qualify for the new Tuition Challenge Program savings plan. The Tuition Challenge Program allows full-time students to receive up to a ten percent rebate on their tuition for the following semester.

Clark State Board of Trustees Approves Voluntary Tuition Freeze

The Clark State Community College Board of Trustees voted to implement a voluntary tuition freeze effective immediately. Freezing tuition for academic credit programs at current rates is one of many cost-saving strategies Clark State has implemented in an effort to make a college degree more attainable. The tuition freeze will allow students to maintain current costs for in-state instructional, general and technology fees.

Ingling Will Retire After 37 Years with Clark State

Following her graduation with an associate degree in secretarial science, Debbie Ingling made her way back to the Clark Technical College and began her new job as the first switchboard operator and secretary; that was on July 12, 1972. On May 29 of this year, she will officially retire from Clark State Community College with 37 years of service.

Clark State and Wittenberg Collaborate on Nursing Pathway Program

The Ohio Board of Regents and the Higher Learning Commission have granted approval of the Nursing Pathway Program; a collaboration between Clark State Community College and Wittenberg University allowing students to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and also a Bachelor of Science in Nursing within a four-year program. The Pathway Program will begin with the Fall 2015 Semester.

Spring Semester 2015 Dean's List

Clark State Community College has announced the names of students for the 2015 Spring Semester Dean's List. Two hundred seventeen (217) full-time students and five hundred seventy-nine (579) part-time students earned a 3.5 grade point average or better to receive dean's list honors.

Project Jericho LIFT Live Concert

Project Jericho will host a free concert event called Project Jericho LIFT at 5 p.m. on May 28 at the Clark State Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature local youth participating in Project Jericho My SONG. Local youth auditioned for the opportunity to write, record and perform original songs in a songwriting intensive with guitar virtuoso and Project Jericho lead artist Michael Kelsey.

Nine Students to Graduate from First Community Leadership Course at Clark State

Nine students will graduate from the Building Leaders to Build Community (BLBC) course May 20 at the Clark State Sara T. Landess Technology and Learning Center. The BLBC courses were held at Clark State in partnership with the Ohio Air National Guard, the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney's office, Clark County Job & Family Services, the City of Springfield and the Springfield Promise Neighborhood.

Clark State Will Offer Online Insurance Degree and Certificate

Clark State is taking the lead in bridging the insurance industry employment gap. A 2013 study identified that Ohio insurance companies will need to hire 26,000 new workers by 2020. Clark State is the only college in Ohio to offer an associate degree in Business Management with an Insurance Option. This fall Clark State will become the first college in Ohio to offer an online Insurance Certificate that can be completed with a series of six online courses.
