Fall Semester 2013 Dean's List

Clark State has announced the names of students for the Fall Semester 2013 Dean's List. Two hundred thirty-one full-time students and five hundred fifty-one part-time students earned a 3.5 grade point average or better to receive dean's list honors.

Clark State to Train Baby Boomers for New Jobs

Clark State Community College was recently chosen to join the Plus 50 Encore Completion Program, a national effort to train 10,000 baby boomers for new jobs in health care, education and social services. Clark State received $15,000 to support 40 students over two years.

Diesel Program Receives Donated Engine

Navistar and ABF Freight System have partnered with Clark State Community College to provide diesel technology students with hands-on learning opportunities to better prepare them for the workforce. Navistar donated an engine and ABF Freight System transported it free of charge.

Clark State Appoints New Vice President

Clark State Community College has appointed Theresa B. Felder to be the new Vice President of Student Services and Greene Center Operations. Felder, currently the dean of the Greene Center campus, will begin her new position on December 2, 2013.

Theatre Arts Presents Next to Normal

The Clark State Theatre Arts Program will present the Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. A mother struggles with bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. With provocative lyrics and a thrilling score, this musical shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family's world intact.

Early Childhood Education Center Earns 4 Stars

The Early Childhood Education Center, created as a collaborative venture between Clark State Community College and Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center, has been named a four-star program through Ohio's voluntary quality rating system for Ohio Department of Job and Family Services licensed childcare programs.

Clark State Student Receives Local Scholarship

The Springfield Human Resource Management Association (SHRMA) presented Clark State student Nancy McGlothen with the Kristen Yarger Memorial Scholarship. McGlothen serves as the secretary for the College's student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.
